Pillar 4: THE MATERIAL WORLD
[90:1] "In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the
house of David\...
[90:2] for sin and for uncleanness."
[90:3] --- Zechariah 13:1
[90:4] "As the lotus rises through the water,
[90:5] so the kundalini rises through the chakras."
[90:6] --- Traditional Hindu teaching
[90:7] "There are seven doors, seven seekers, and seven
barriers."
[90:8] --- From the OOMNI system
[90:9] [90:1] The path between matter and spirit passes through
seven stations.
[90:10] [90:2] Nearly every mystical tradition recognizes a
sevenfold structure in the human being---seven chakras, seven
sacraments, seven heavens, seven notes in the scale. This is not
arbitrary. The number seven arises naturally when consciousness descends
through manifestation and encodes the stages of transformation between
pure spirit and dense matter.
[90:11] [90:3] In the OOMNI system, these are called the Seven
Levels, each with its door (point of entry), seeker (the aspect of
consciousness working at that level), and barrier (the obstacle to be
overcome). The levels correspond loosely to the chakras but are
understood functionally rather than anatomically.
[90:12] [90:4]Â Level 7 (Crown): The door of union. Here the
seeker is the Witness itself, and the barrier is the final illusion of
separation. To pass this door is to recognize identity with the source.
[90:13] [90:5]Â Level 6 (Third Eye): The door of vision. The
seeker here is the seer, and the barrier is illusion---taking appearance
for reality. To pass is to perceive the Forms behind forms.
[90:14] [90:6]Â Level 5 (Throat): The door of expression. The
seeker is the speaker, and the barrier is falsehood---the inability to
align word with truth. To pass is to speak creatively.
[90:15] [90:7]Â Level 4 (Heart): The door of love. The seeker is
the lover, and the barrier is fear---the contraction that refuses
connection. To pass is to open without defense.
[90:16] [90:8]Â Level 3 (Solar Plexus): The door of power. The
seeker is the warrior, and the barrier is weakness---not physical but
volitional, the failure of will. To pass is to act effectively.
[90:17] [90:9]Â Level 2 (Sacral): The door of desire. The seeker
is the creator, and the barrier is attachment---desire that clings
rather than flows. To pass is to create without grasping.
[90:18] [90:10]Â Level 1 (Root): The door of survival. The seeker
is the incarnate one, and the barrier is fear of death---clinging to
physical existence. To pass is to be fully in the body without being
only the body.
[90:19] [FIGURE 90.1: A vertical diagram showing seven levels,
from Root at bottom to Crown at top. Each level shows its door, seeker,
and barrier.] [90:11] The levels are not merely descriptions; they
are a map for practice. To know which level you are working at is to
know what barrier you face and what capacity you are developing. Most
people are stuck at one or two levels; integral development requires
opening all seven.
[90:20] [90:12] Energy flows through these levels in two
directions: Lightning descending from crown to root (will becoming act),
and Snake ascending from root to crown (sensation becoming awareness).
These dual flows are the subject of the next two Gates.
