[33:10] [33:1] The Hebrew ×‘×  (Ben) means "Son"---and all

creation is the Son of the One, emanated from the source as light

emanates from fire.

[33:11] [33:2] Emanation (atzilut) is the process by which the

One becomes many without division, without diminishment, without leaving

itself. It is not creation from nothing (ex nihilo) but flowing from

fullness (ex deo). The sun does not lose light by shining; the source

does not lose being by emanating. Creation is overflow, not manufacture.

[33:12] [33:3] In Neoplatonic philosophy, emanation proceeds by

necessity---the Good cannot help but overflow into being. In Kabbalah,

it proceeds by will---Ein Sof chooses to emanate. In either case, the

result is a hierarchy of being: levels progressively further from the

source, progressively more differentiated, progressively denser.

[33:13] [33:4] The Sefirot are the stages of emanation. From

Keter (Crown) to Malkuth (Kingdom), divine light descends through ten

transformers, stepping down the infinite voltage so that finite vessels

can contain it. Each Sefirah is an aspect of divinity---not separate

from the source but a mode of its expression.

continuity."] [33:5] Emanation is not temporal---it does not happen

"at a time." The relationship between source and emanation is logical,

not chronological. The sun does not shine at one moment and light exist

at another; the shining and the light are simultaneous. So too with Ein

Sof and creation: the emanating is eternal, always happening "now."

[33:15] [33:6] You are an emanation. This is not metaphor but

description. The consciousness reading these words is a ray of the

infinite light, stepped down through multiple levels until it can

illuminate a human nervous system. You are not separate from the source;

you are the source appearing as "you."

[33:16] [33:7] The "distance" from the source is not spatial

but ontological---a matter of mode, not location. Keter is not "above"

you in space; it is within you as your deepest nature. Malkuth is not

"below" you; it is the surface of your experience. All the Sefirot are

present here, now, in this moment. Emanation is structure, not

geography.

[33:17] [33:8] Emanation implies return. What flows out longs to

flow back. The many arise from the One and yearn for the One. This is

the eros of existence, the gravitational pull of spirit, the love that

moves the sun and other stars. Emanation is only half the story; return

is the other half. Together they form the circuit.

[33:18] [33:9] The "Son" in every tradition---Christ in

Christianity, Zeir Anpin in Kabbalah, the Logos in Greek thought---is

the principle of emanation in personal form. The Son proceeds from the

Father; the Son reveals the Father; the Son returns to the Father. The

Son is you, and you are the Son.

[33:19] [33:10] Know yourself as emanation. Not as accident, not

as mistake, not as exile from some better place---but as the intentional

self-expression of the infinite, flowing forth for the sake of

experience, destined to return enriched. You are the Son of the One. Act

like it.
